Possession Is Nine-Tenths Of The Law

When Youngest Sister was three or four, she learned the ABC song, the one that ends with "Now I know my ABCs, next time won't you sing with me?"

At some point, she asked someone, "Do you know your ABCs?" and when they began reciting, "A, B, C..." Youngest Sister piped up, "No! Those are my  ABCs!"

Here's hoping (the now 40-year-old) Youngest Sister will forgive me for trotting out that story yet again and for making use of her ABCs throughout the month of April with the Blogging From A-Z Challenge. For those unfamiliar with the challenge, participating bloggers post every day in April (except Sundays) with the topic of each day's post corresponding to consecutive letters of the alphabets. So, the first post, which will appear later on today, will feature a topic beginning with the letter "A." And, April 30th's post will feature a topic beginning with the letter "Z." And all the letters in between will be allotted their due and their days.

I'm looking forward to the challenge and to the opportunity to make some new bloggy friends.

  1. Isn't it funny how certain things from childhood follow you wherever you go as adults? I used to lord it over JT, who is one year and six days younger than me...that I was TWO years older than her for those six days every September. Then, about age twenty-two or so, SHE started laughing at me each year, saying, "HA HA, you are TWO years older than me. Big sigh..she has the last laugh, every year.

  3. Cute! I remember well the ABC song, especially after 7 children. I'm sure your sister won't mind if you rain on her parade. Thanks for putting a smile on my face and just for remembering when.
