Ways I Am Not A Grown-Up, The Sixth In A Potentially Infinite Series

Good habits* remain entirely too easy to break and bad habits entirely too easy to establish.

*Take regular blogging, for instance. You know, just for a random example.

  1. Good for you for taking a break. If you HAVE to do "it," then it's no fun.

    1. Thanks, Mark. I guess it just turned out to be a bigger break than I'd originally intended. ;)

  2. I know exactly what you mean ...

As to Mark's comment, it kind of is something I have to do, but I like "having" to do it. (: So it's a fun chore...

    1. I like having to do it, too. And I really intended to keep posting regularly, just not daily. I was really not thinking I'd be letting WEEKS go by without posting--or worse, without visiting anyone else's blogs!

  3. Bad habits are usually much more fun and easier too ;-)

  5. *giggles* But I thought you were meaning to blog a little less regularly? So if you meant to break your habit, it's grown-up. Unless? Oh, unless we're trying to feel less grown-up. In which case, good on you for feeling young and free and unrestricted by the worries of confining yourself to habits.

    1. It was a plan that didn't go according to plan--due in no small part to the ease with which I embrace procrastination and laziness, if that makes any sense. That wanting to be grown-up and ever youthful at the same time reminds me of one of my favorite lines: "You're only young once, but you can be immature forever." Yup.

  6. I have noticed that you are not the only one taking a break. Perhaps this post will be you leading the re-charged charge.

    1. I hope so--for myself at least. I've definitely missed this flickering 17" slice of my world.

  7. Every time I read these, I realize that I'm not a grown-up, either. Wanna go out and play?

  8. I have missed you too but I have been pretty much absent as well. I am too cynical right now to be upbeat so I stay silent. How about you?

    1. Capital-F Funkification is definitely a factor here as well, Gracie. I'm struggling mightily to drag myself up out of that hole. :)

  9. Yay, MM is back! I've missed your voice. What is it about right now that has everyone in a similar funk? I'm just emerging from mine. Welcome back, and as you always tell me, we'll be happy to read you when you write, no pressure:)

    1. Thanks! I've missed it too, but I've had that trouble focusing that always come with the funk for me.
