Son-Three threatened to move out yesterday because I was making grilled cheese for dinner. He said, "Don't make me any food, Mommy, because I'm moving out." Really. An important milestone in any child's life is his first threat of running away. Don't you think?
Awww. That's all.
ReplyDelete:) Is it weird that I'm kinda looking forward to my eldest reaching this milestone? That's a bit sick, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWait, what's wrong with grilled cheese? Now, liver, I could see providing grounds for moving out, but grilled cheese?
ReplyDeleteMy first home-away-from-home came stocked with a passel of drill sergeants and 39 other roommates, none of whom was my cousin. I have an excuse; I was drafted.
Your spiral notebook is a treasure. I have to pass this idea onto to my daughter. I wonder if you would have remembered that if it weren't written down.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if his first meal in his new place will be grilled cheese.
Don't worry - - he'll be stopping by A LOT for grilled cheese now that he's on his own. Experience speaking :)
ReplyDeleteUh .. Grilled cheese sandwiches is yummy.
ReplyDeleteI am appalled at myself. Sandwiches ARE yummy. I apologize most profusely.
DeleteLarissa, if it helps at all, I thought you did it on purpose--and I thought it was cute and in keeping with the fact that story was about a four-year-old. ;)
DeleteMy youngest threatened to move into his own tree this summer. Too bad I wasn't taking notes to publish it later, like you. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha. I used to "run away"...I packed my bag with my bear, my barbie, my care bear, and usually my barbie cadillac. I was clearly a born survivor ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd run away from zucchini as a kid, but never grilled cheese!
ReplyDeleteIf you regularly make grilled cheese for supper, I'm moving in.
