What's Worse Than Finding A Worm In Your Apple?

Finding this worm in your ear:

...and spending the whole day humming it to yourself, while wondering what that means for the state of your mental health (both as a cause and an effect).

  1. Why do I have the feeling that this will creep, unbidden, into my dreams tonight. Just wait. I might have to post Achy Breaky Heart. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

    1. I am terrified of Achy, Breaky. It's like that old game show "Name That Tune." All it takes is a note or two of that one and I'm doomed for days. Have mercy! ;)

  2. I am afraid that I didn't have the courage to click on the arrow. Hmm, but on the other hand, perhaps it would be a distraction from all of the other stuff running around in my head.
Nope, still can't get myself to click on the arrow.

    1. You are a wise woman, Lynda. Wise indeed.

  3. Eye of the Tiger has been my latest ear-worm.
Your ear worm song and the TV show had been truly buried in my memory-- could not have conjured them up without your help. Quite a jaunty little tune!

I am the unknown stunt man... la, la, la... Oh, sorry.

I will gladly send you $20 not to post Achy Breaky Heart. Although I did enjoy seeing Billy Ray up on tippy toe in the ancient days. Maybe I could play the video without the sound?

    1. Billy Ray did have a certain hillbilly appeal back in the day, didn't he? ;)

  4. Nothing can be worse than "I'm a Gummi Bear" which I have now heard, in several languages, thanks to my kids' Just Dance Kids 2 Wii game. Oh Lord make it go away!!!

    1. I'm afraid to even Google "I'm a Gummi Bear" to find out what it is.

  5. My husband declared- 'I have to go listen to something else now.'
(Lee Majors was really hot, though, wasn't he?)

    1. Yes, yes he was. I always remember "The Fall Guy" as the one show my parents both enjoyed equally--most likely because she was lusting after Lee Majors while he lusted after Markie Post and Heather Thomas. ;)

    1. When I was looking for a decent You Tube version to include, I was actually kind of enjoying hearing it over and over. Lee Majors made it sound a lot better than the version in my head.

  7. This happens to me all the time. At least you hum in your head. I tend to start singing aloud in random places, and don't notice until people look at me funny

    1. Oh, it slips out from time to time with me, too. I actually posted about it once--I think I inherited that tendency from my Nan who would randomly burst into a song at the oddest moments.

  8. Thank you for that. No really, thanks.

    1. Oh, you're so very welcome. And I'd like to thank you as well, because what finally got this worm out of my ear was the worm I picked up over at your place. (Does "I can't live, if living is without you...." ring any bells?)

  9. I heard a story on NPR about ear worms the other day and how we get them the other day and one of the people interviewed was talking about how, during the course her day, she was reading a document when the word "Faith" leaped out at her and she was stuck with George Michael for days.

As soon as she said the word "faith", I was stuck with him too.
