Spiral Notebook Sunday: Special Tuesday Edition

(This one goes out to cdnkaro over at four under 4 (plus two),  who has so generously shared some of the hilarious (and informative) anatomical-based discussion going on over at her house.)

At the time this entry was written, Son-One was not quite three months past his third birthday, Son-Two was 21 months old, and Son-Three was a few days past two months old. While I found it mildly disturbing (though not entirely surprising) that size concerns could pop up at such an early age, I was rather impressed that he found a category to fit everyone into. (Even though he had to make one up.)

For the record, all those "yeps" were less agreement and more a concerted effort to not giggle uncontrollably at his sincere attempt to figure things out.

While I was changing Son-Three the other day, Son-One and I had this conversation:

Son-One: Son-Three has a penis.

Me: Yep.

S-O: Son-Three has a little penis.

Me: Yep.

S-O: I have a big penis.

Me: Yep.

S-O: Daddy has a big, giant penis.

Me: Yep.

S-O: And Son-Two has a little, giant penis.

Me: Uh, yep.

  1. Hee hee! Thanks for the shout out! The question is, did he intuitively know that it was suppose dto be there, or think it was a 'bobo' and try to pick it off? LOL

  2. "Little Giant" is a not-so-nice nickname that the Chief Lou and I have given an acquaintance of ours. Now I will never be able to look him in the face again.

  4. Too funny! A few years ago, my grandson expressed a bit of worry over not quite measuring up to his dad. His folks assured him that all of his parts would grow with him.

  6. Hilarious. My third son was very happy when he learned (at about 6 years old) that his would get bigger as he did. They learn young.

  7. Into my head popped the Sesame Street Song, "One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong..." I love it when children compare and contrast and classify...especially when it's genitalia.!
